webspider3, originally uploaded by cmdbryant.

We call these things zipper spiders but I'm sure there's a much more technical name for them. This one is much, um, prettier from the other side but it's built its web against our fence and since that web is HUGE there's no getting to the other side. If I happen to catch the other side I'll be sure to share. :)

Holy craparoni look at that thing!! We saw one of these the other day but it wasn't nearly that large. Nicolaus will be over the moon when I show him these pics in the morning.

I've had several of these this summer! They seem to be larger this year. The latest one decided to build its web across my back door, but she kept it high enough that I could still get out of the door without disturbing her. Then she extended it down and I couldn't get out the door, so I had to break the web and she left the next day. They are neat spiders and I love to watch them!!

We have 3 of these spiders right now. Unfortunately two of them are by our front door. I keep telling Jason to relocate them, but he has already named them Fred and Jack. Ugh. I have never seen them before, but they decided they like us this year.

Holy smokes if I had something like that living up here I'd DIE!!!!! I have a crazy irrational fear of spiders and this would put me over the top!
I guess there are advantages of living up north :)
